Maslow, emergency, up to your arse in alligators – do you have the skills to be successful?

I have a friend. We’ve just recently created an alliance: we support each other in our goal to build a new business. He builds one for himself, I build one for myself. For fun and profit.

We talk on Skype. He teaches me more about people and about what might be the reason people are underachievers than anyone before… not because he is especially screwed up, but because of the context: we talk to build… different from my normal calls, which are coaching calls… got it?

Here are the things I am learning about what is missing to be a winner, to successfully build something new:

You are delusional, or maybe just a liar? Updated

I observe people, I observe you. I observe your behavior, I observe your emotional state. Here is what I see with most of you:

You don’t trust anyone. You don’t trust me.

You also think that you don’t need a teacher, you have been so disappointed.

You are going to try it on your own.

You read my articles… sorry, precisely said: you misread my articles. Your actions therefore will be misdirected.

The Brain That Changes Itself Needs You To Teach It First to perform the new action by doing it hundreds of times…

In his book, The Brain That Changes Itself, Norman Doidge, a medical doctor, deals with the physical activities, and problem solving abilities of your brain.

In that he says, and shows with valid examples, you find out that the brain demonstrates a certain plasticity, as far as how you can see, feel, or move your body.

What no one is talking about though is what differentiates a human being from a robot or an animal: changing your attention, changing your consciousness also depends on your brain’s ability to change itself.
